Stefen Smith is a Co-Founder of The Standard Legal Recruiting and serves as The Standard’s Head of Intelligence & Analytics. A graduate of Emory University School of Law, he specializes in placing legal support professionals and attorneys of all levels across AmLaw firms, regional and boutique practices, and corporate legal departments.
Stefen spent the past five years as a top-performing recruiter at a national legal recruiting agency. After being recognized as Rookie of the Year, he quickly rose into leadership where he led high-performing teams focused on the placement conflicts attorneys, paralegals, contracts managers, and legal assistants.
This background allows him to guide candidates with clarity and credibility, ensuring well-aligned career moves and lasting hires. Stefen is known for his consistent follow-through and ability to build genuine connections quickly.
Stefen lives in Portland, Oregon with his husband. Outside of work, he enjoys staying active through workouts at Barry's, traveling, reading, hiking, wine tasting, and spending time along the Oregon coast.
